Jarvis is fortunate to welcome to her staff this year Mr. Gracey. His
experience ranges from school days in a "little red school house on a hill"
near Woodstock to a six-week stay in New York with the Canadian U.N.
Delegation and a trip around the world. Briefly, after finishing high school
in Woodstock, he went to the University of Western Ontario, graduating
in 1962 with an honours B.A. in English and History , and entered the Department
of External Affairs as a Foreign Service Officer. While working
there, he spent six weeks in New York with the Canadian Delegation and
three months travelling around the world in training to be a Diplomatic
Courier. In 1963 he returned to school, this time to the University of
Toronto, from which he graduated last spring with an M.A. in History. Mr.
Gracey spent the summer at the Ontario College of Education and now,
as may have been noticed by many Jarvisites, teaches English and history
to grades 9, 10 and 11. After school he is involved with the English Club
and the World Affairs Club, and says that his hobbies are reading and
music. By his own admission he is a "terrible golfer", but that's all right;
Jarvis doesn't need good golfers, just good students and good teachers.

E. WEBSTER, B.Sc.
Another young teacher has joined the staff of Jarvis this year. Mr.
Webster was born in China. He took a correspondence course as far as
grade three there. Then he went to Orillia College, and later on, he attended
the University of Toronto for three years. Mr. Webster has obtained
his B.Sc. degree. He enjoys S.C.U.B.A. diving, but being a member of the
Board of Directors at camp, and also assisting the United Church of
Canada, take up a great deal of his valuable time. His future plans are
to continue teaching. He teaches grade 11 physics, grade 1O biology and
grade 9 mathematics.
We wish you good luck in the future, sir, and hope that you will enjoy
your stay at Jarvis.

MISS J. MOORE, B.A., B.L.Sc.
This year we are happy to welcome Miss Moore to our teaching staff.
Miss Moore was born in Burlington, Ontario, and received her high
school education at Western Collegiate. She attended the University of
Toronto, where she majored in English, obtaining her B.A. and B.L.Sc.
Miss Moore enjoys skiing and swimming and, when not engaged in these
athletic activities, she likes reading and sculpture,
We hope, Miss Moore, that your stay among us will be a long and
pleasant one.

MRS. C. FODE, B.A.
A new addition to our staff this year at Jarvis is Madame Fode. Born
in Gravenhurst, Ontario, she attended Forest Hill Collegiate, the Sorbonne,
and the University of Toronto. She has travelled to Mexico and Quebec;
she spent last summer in France. Her hobbies are horse-back riding,
sewing and films, especially foreign ones. She dislikes hypocrisy and gum
chewing. Madame Fode plans to continue teaching. Her opinion of Jarvis
is that we have "a marvelous combination of a public secondary education
and a private school atmosphere".
