"The Christian ideal," it is said, "has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult, and left untried."           Life of William Booth

Quite a statement, isn't it? There is no need to point out the validity of his statement because we have all tried to find easy ways in life and we have all become discouraged. However, you are probably wondering how this quotation applies to I.S.C.F. and, also, what is I.S.C.F.

The Inter-School-Christian-Fellowship is a branch of an international organization whose main interest is young people. I.S.C.F. is a non-denominational group which meets after school, under a staff sponsor, to discuss the principles, problems and pleasures of Christian living. Our motto is "To know Christ and to make Him known."

Our "ideal" is Christ. We have tried Christ and found that He is sufficient for all our needs. We have tried His way and found it difficult, but any difficulties that we have met have only encouraged us to continue striving.

I.S.C.F. meetings are informal and open to anyone. Many provocative comments are contributed during Bible studies and bull sessions. Guest speakers from all walks of life, films and panel discussions help us to seek a better understanding of ourselves and our relationships with others. Through these meetings each person has an opportunity to share his experiences and to profit from the experience of others.

However, I.S.C.F. is not just an intellectual discussion group. We enjoy ourselves, too. There are many city-wide activities such as sports nights, skating parties, and ski camps where one meets people from different communities. Through our affiliation with I.V.C.F., each summer a leadership camp is held at Campus-in-The-Woods in the Lake of the Bays area. Here, young people from across Canada learn how to "make Christ known" and how to assume responsibilities in their clubs, in their homes, and in their communities.

We invite all I.S.C.F.'ers and anyone interested in the club to join us for fun and fellowship. Details of our meetings are in the Magnet or can be obtained from members or our sponsor, Mrs. Lowry.

The I.S.C.F. wishes to thank Mrs. Lowry, who has been our sponsor for the last two years, for all her long hours of work and for cheerfully assuming extra duties. We have appreciated her understanding and sincere concern and we wish her every happiness in her future activities.

Constance Culbertson.
