This year's Bantam team possessed a great
deal of spirit although the season was not as
successful as everybody expected it to be.
We opened the schedule against Northern, which we beat by a score of 49-7. The Jarvis defence played on excellent game. Harry Sems led the scoring for Jarvis with four touchdowns, three converts and a single point. Dave Tattle added four touchdowns. The second game of the schedule was played against Riverdale. Jarvis emerged the victor, defeating Riverdale by a score of 27-6. Both offence and defence played an excellent game for Jarvis. Harry Sems led the scoring with three touchdowns and three converts. Dave Tattle added another touchdown. Our third game was played against Lawrence Park. Jarvis put up a good fight on both offence and defence, but Lawrence Park overpowered us to score 20 to our 18 points. Sems played another of his outstanding games by scoring Jarvis' three touchdowns. The fourth and final game of this year's season was played against Monarch Park. This game proved to be our worst loss. Monarch Park led by Bruce Johnson defeated us bya score of 13-0. The Jarvis offence and defence squads put up a good fight but this was not enough as the Monarch team just seemed to do everything right. |
This year's award winners are as follows: Most Valuable Player - Harry Sems Best Half Back - Dave Tattle Best Lineman - Peter Kelly, Mike Stubitsch.
