Due to the able coaching of Mr. Sellers and
Mr. Humphries, the Jarvis Swim Team won two
out of four meets with a group of only twenty
boys.
Our Juniors, led by Ross Armstrong and Doug Lorriman, carried the meets, not losing one in the Eastern Zone. The Juniors went on to compete against the other two Zone champions, and lost by only four points to North Toronto. The Seniors, who consisted of only six men, won two meets in their division. Vello (the fish) Mijal and Freddy (the freeloader) Bowler, went on to the City Finals. At the Finals the Juniors captured the 100 yard freestyle, setting a new record and again came second to Northern (very worthy opponents). Our valiant Senior group won eleven points. Neither of our two bantams qualified for the finals. |
On behalf of the team I would like to express
our sincere thanks for Mr. Sellers' help,
not only during this year but in years past as
well. We wish him all the best of luck at his
new school: Castle Frank. We are looking
forward to working with our new coach, Mr.
Humphries, next year.
